Welcome to Amiqa

What you have, how it fits together, and where to start

August 13, 20268 min read

Amiqa is one platform with two halves that talk to each other: the Front Desk where you run the day, and the Dashboard where you see how the hotel is doing and what to charge. This section explains how they fit together, how to move around, and the order to set things up in so nothing bites you later.

What is Amiqa?

Amiqa is a lightweight property management system with AI dynamic pricing built in. One platform, one subscription — no add-ons.

Everything below is included from day one. You are not being upsold later:

  • Front Desk — your calendar, reservations, guests, payments and room setup
  • Dynamic Pricing AI — price recommendations for every room, every night
  • Channel Manager — rates and availability synced to Booking.com and Expedia
  • Dashboard — occupancy, ADR and RevPAR at a glance
  • Booking Engine — your own booking site, zero commission on direct bookings
  • Guest emails — confirmations, changes and cancellations, in your words

It was built for hotels with roughly 5 to 30 rooms, run by small teams who wear several hats at once. That shapes every screen: fewer clicks, fewer menus, and nothing that needs a dedicated revenue manager to operate.

What is the difference between the Dashboard and the Front Desk?

The Front Desk is where you do things — take a booking, check a guest in, record a payment. The Dashboard is where you see things — how the month is tracking and what to charge next week.

You land on the Dashboard when you sign in, and move to the Front Desk from the sidebar. They are two halves of the same product, not two products — same login, no second sign-in.

Do I have to enter my hotel details twice?

No. The Dashboard and the Front Desk keep each other up to date automatically. There is no sync button to press, because there is nothing to press.

What flows between them:

  • Your hotel details — name, address, phone, check-in and check-out times, logo, timezone — are set once and appear in both places
  • Your rooms and room types flow up to the Dashboard, so pricing knows what it is pricing
  • Editing your hotel details reaches your OTAs too. Change your check-in time and it travels to Booking.com and Expedia without you opening anything else

It happens when you sign in and again whenever something changes, and it is quick — changes reach your channels in under a minute.

How do I move around Amiqa?

Everything lives in the dark strip down the left. It shows icons only to stay out of your way — hover over it and it widens to show the labels.

Settings opens a sub-list with two entries, and they are completely different places. This trips people up constantly, so it is worth learning once:

Throughout this guide they are named in full — Front Desk Settings or Account Settings — so you never have to guess which one is meant.

On a phone the strip becomes a row of tabs along the bottom.

What are the three Front Desk views?

Calendar, List and Inventory — the same bookings shown three ways. Switch between them with the pill group at the top of the page.

  1. Calendar — Rooms down the side, dates across the top. Your default view, and the one to leave open during a shift. Best for seeing who is in which room and what is free tonight.
  2. List — Every reservation as a row you can search, filter and export. Best for finding one booking, or answering "how did last month go?"
  3. Inventory — Prices and availability per room type and date. Best for changing rates across a whole date range at once.

Above all three sits Today's Summary — arrivals, guests in house, departures, tentative holds and blocked rooms. One glance and you know what the day holds.

What should I have ready before I start?

Fifteen minutes and the list below. None of it is hard to find, but hunting for it mid-setup is what turns fifteen minutes into an afternoon.

  • Your room list — how many rooms, and which type each one is
  • How many people fit in each room type, including children and infants
  • Your normal nightly rate for each room type
  • Your check-in and check-out times
  • Your tax rates, and whether they are already inside your prices
  • Your cancellation terms — how long before arrival a guest can cancel free
  • A few good photos of each room type
  • Your Booking.com and Expedia logins, if you want channels connected
  • Your hotel logo, if you have one

What order should I set things up in?

When you finish onboarding you land on the Dashboard. It will be mostly empty, and the blank panels are telling you what to do next — so it is a starting point, not a problem.

From there, follow this order. Each step needs the one before it, so skipping ahead means going back.

  1. Rooms and rate plans — Create your room types, add the rooms inside each one, then set what they cost. Everything else depends on this, including every number on your Dashboard.
  2. Taxes — Tell Amiqa your tax rates and whether they are already inside your prices, so totals come out right from the first booking.
  3. Cancellation policies — Write your terms once and reuse them. Your guests see these before they book.
  4. Property profile — Your hotel name, photos, amenities, policies and colours. This is what guests see on your booking site.
  5. Connect your channels — Link Booking.com and Expedia so rates and availability stay in step and you stop getting double bookings.
  6. Turn on your Booking Engine — Your own booking site, with no commission on anything booked through it.
  7. Emails — Choose how your confirmations read, and who on your team gets told about new bookings.
  8. Upload your history, if you have it — past bookings from before Amiqa. This is what fills your Dashboard with occupancy, RevPAR and ADR immediately instead of a year from now.

Steps 1 and 2 are the minimum to start taking reservations. The rest you can do over your first week.

Where do I get help?

Support in the sidebar, at the bottom. It opens without taking you off the page you are on, so you do not lose what you were doing.

Before you ask, two things solve most surprises:

  • Sign out and back in. This refreshes everything between the Dashboard and the Front Desk, and settles most "this looks wrong" moments.
  • Check Operations → Activity. It records who changed what and when, going back three days. Most "who cancelled this?" questions answer themselves here.
