Your Property Profile

How your hotel looks to guests

August 13, 20267 min read

Everything a guest sees about your hotel lives here — your name and description, photos, amenities, check-in policies, contact links, terms, and your brand colours. Fill it in before you switch on your booking engine, because this is your booking site's content.

Where do I edit how my hotel appears to guests?

Front Desk Settings → Property Profile. Its own subtitle says what it is for: "Manage how your property appears across channels and your booking engine."

The page is a list of sections down the left with their current values on the right. Anything you have not filled in shows as a grey italic Not set, which makes the gaps easy to spot. Each row has an Edit button that opens a drawer.

Work down the list in order. By the time you reach the bottom, your booking site has everything it needs.

How do I set the big photo on my booking site?

The Hero image at the top of Property Profile. Its help text tells you where it lands: "Displayed at the top of your booking website home page."

The requirements are strict, and worth respecting because this is the first thing a guest sees:

  • At least 1200 pixels wide — narrower is rejected outright
  • JPEG, PNG or WebP
  • Under 10 MB

Use Upload image, then Replace or Remove later.

Choose a wide shot that says what kind of place you are — the pool, the courtyard, the view from the terrace. Not a bedroom; bedrooms belong on the room cards. And not a photo with text baked into it, because it gets cropped differently on a phone.

Where do I set my hotel name, description and logo?

The Hotel information row — "Name, description and logo shown to guests."

  • Hotel name — required. This appears on your booking site, in your guest emails, and on your OTA listings.
  • Description — up to 5,000 characters. Far more than you need; a good one is two or three short paragraphs.
  • Logo — PNG or JPG up to 10 MB, ideally around 512 × 512 pixels. A square logo works best because it is used in small round and square spaces.

Your logo does real work beyond the booking site: it becomes the badge on your Booking Engine card in Channel Management, and it appears at the top of your guest emails.

For the description, write for a guest deciding between you and two other places. What kind of stay is this? What is nearby? Skip the adjectives and give them specifics.

How do I list what my hotel offers?

The Amenities row — "Select what your property offers. Guests see these on your booking site." Tick everything that applies from the fixed list:

Free Wi-Fi · Air conditioning · Private bathroom · Hot water · Central location · Daily housekeeping · Parking · Breakfast · Safety deposit box · TV · Entertainment · Swimming pool · Spa · Kitchen · Laundry · Luggage storage · Transport · Pet-friendly · Garden · International outlets · Tours · Bar · Restaurant · Lounge · Iron · Workspace · Soundproof rooms · Mini-bar · Streaming services · Event space · Room service · Disabled access · Alarm clock

Tick honestly. An amenity a guest was promised and did not get is a bad review, and these are exactly the details guests filter on.

Where do I set my check-in and check-out times?

The Check-in / Check-out row — "Summarize your hotel's check in and check out policies." Each has a time picker and a free-text box of up to 2,000 characters.

The times are the hard facts. The text is where you handle everything the times do not cover:

  • What a guest should do if they arrive after hours
  • Whether early check-in or late checkout is possible, and what it costs
  • Where to leave bags before check-in or after checkout
  • Whether reception is staffed around the clock

Guests read this. A clear late-arrival paragraph prevents most of the anxious midnight phone calls.

How do I add my phone, address and social links?

The Contact row — "Phone, address, social and other links." It holds your email, phone, website and full postal address, plus as many Contact links as you want.

The nice part: just paste the URL and Amiqa works out what it is.

Paste a link fromIt becomes
wa.me or whatsapp.comWhatsApp
maps.google.com or a Maps short linkMaps
instagram.comInstagram
facebook.com or fb.comFacebook
A tel: linkPhone
Anything elseWebsite

You never pick an icon or a type from a menu — paste and it sorts itself out. You can add an optional display label of up to 64 characters if you want it to read something other than the default.

Add your WhatsApp. For most small hotels it is the channel guests actually use, and a tap-to-chat link on your booking site converts questions into bookings.

Where do I write my terms and conditions?

The Terms & conditions row — "House rules and the terms guests accept at checkout." One large text box, with room for up to 10,000 characters. The placeholder suggests the tone: "By booking, you agree to…"

Guests accept these when they book on your site, so this is where your house rules become part of the deal. Worth covering:

  • Quiet hours, and whether events or parties are allowed
  • Smoking rules and any charge for breaking them
  • Who may be in a room, and any visitor policy
  • Damage, and what you charge for it
  • Any local requirement, like providing ID or passport at check-in

Keep cancellation terms out of here. Those belong on the rate plan, where guests see them at the moment they choose a rate — not buried in a wall of text.

How do I make my booking site match my brand?

The Theme row — "Brand colors used by your booking engine." Two colours, each a hex value like #FEBE69:

  • Primary color — your buttons, your selected dates, the accents that lead a guest through booking
  • Secondary color — the supporting tone behind them

A live Preview shows real buttons and a calendar date range in your colours as you change them, so you can see whether your brand green actually works on a booking button before you commit.

You never choose a text colour. Amiqa picks black or white automatically based on how dark your primary colour is, so your buttons stay readable whatever you pick. One less thing to get wrong.

Why is there no cancellation policy on this screen?

Because cancellation terms belong to a rate plan, not to your hotel. You set them in Front Desk Settings → Rooms & Rate Plans, on each rate.

That is deliberate and it is what lets you sell a flexible rate and a cheaper non-refundable rate side by side on the same room. A single hotel-wide policy could not do that.

If you are looking for cancellation settings, go to your rate plans.

Is my profile ready for guests?

Run down this list. Anything still showing Not set is a gap a guest will see.

  • Hero image uploaded, at least 1200 pixels wide
  • Hotel name exactly as you want it read
  • Description written — two or three specific paragraphs
  • Logo uploaded, roughly square
  • Amenities ticked honestly
  • Check-in and check-out times set
  • Check-in policy explains late arrivals
  • Email, phone and full address filled in
  • WhatsApp link added
  • Maps link added so guests can find you
  • Terms and conditions written
  • Primary and secondary colours set and previewed
